I am a military veteran who spent seven years in the US Air Force as an intelligence analyst. After leaving the service I used my GI Bill benefits to earn a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a focus in marketing.
I began learning leatherworking in my father's taxidermy shop as a child. Later, under the instruction of a mentor of mine who was also a saddler, I was able to broaden my skill set. I also had the pleasure of studying for several years under a master leatherworker focusing on leather garments and quilting.
After being diagnosed with combat-related PTSD I began to delve back into my leatherworking as I found the activity to be very cathartic. The more I immersed myself into leathercrafting, the more I found myself enjoying life again. I am now working on turning this wonderful skill and hobby into a business with which I hope to earn a living.
